this one time forever + a day (okay, less than two months) ago, i was back home in my favorite hometown of dublin, ohio! the following is what i have compiled as a photo collage summary of the goings-on in my life from approximately mid-june to mid-july.
let's begin, shall we?
let's begin, shall we?
most of this month-ish i worked. and worked + worked + worked the tables (waitressing) down on the farm at bob evans...and got my 5-year pin, to boot (aside from the fact that from out of the past 5 years i have probably only worked each year from about april - august...minor detail)! lots of waitressing = lots of tips = lots of coinage. winner winner.
dk decided to take up homelessness as a personal hobby.
just kidding. but he (+ daddy + gma + uncle stuart + mama) went to the don scott/osu airport for dinner (am i the only one that had no idea that little baby airport had an eatery?) when uncle stu came to visit from califor-ni-a.
g-mama + her boys.
dk + daddy-o littered the dining room table with wood (puzzle piece?) dust as they completed a 500+ piece puzzle!
dk got in touch with his hawaiian side at a church luau...pictured with our resident hula/church leader.
dk also experimented with growing out his facial hair. this was a big summer for him, you guys. he was finally becoming a man!
dk continued progressing toward man-hood as he experimented with new hairstyles and testing them out on unsuspecting best friends from virginia that i skyped on the regular.
june! father's day!...even though this picture was taken almost like, a month after the official day. we just wanted to show everyone how mega awesome the balloons we bought were...because they were STILL. FLOATING. a month later! high-quality helium right there, boys and girls.
dk + daddy started wearing matching ties! or at least those of the same width. this was kind of a big deal in the kron family household.
dk! moved up in church leadership as he made the jump from 13-year-old (referred to as a "deacon") to 14-year-old (referred to as a "teacher")! mega super exciting. an event for all the boys in our congregation + (nearby) extended family to attend to. we tend to love any excuse for a reunion.
dk's #1 fan: benjamonkey parsons.
classic father + son photo.
the boys (papa, benjamin, tio daniel, tio cecil, adam):
aaaaaand the ladies (tia cindy, mama, faith, me, brisley)!
throughout this month-ish-long period, papa + i filled out time with just about as much "culture" as we could, starting it all off by attending shakespeare in the park in beautiful german village, seeing 'the merchant of venice'!
we then, continuing in the annual tradition, went to the beautiful ohio theatre to partake in the capa summer movie series, seeing 'war of the worlds'.
...after i finished filling up our brand new car's gas tank with ELECTRICITY...
okay, just kidding obviously. and i know this it TOtally tangential, but we found it as we were walking out of the parking lot on the way to the theatre and i got so excited about the idea of having electric cars driving all over the place! especially since the gas pump equivalent was (1) in a parking garage (hello, most convenient way to fill up your gas tank - while you're out on the town!), and (2) literally like a giant electrical plug.
okay, i digress. back to the ohio (theatre)!
i love this tradition of coming to the theatre each summer to see an old school movie with my #1 favorite papa. we've been going every summer for as long as i can remember! one of my favorite traditions for sure.
plus, even though i've easily been over a handful of times, i still canNOT get over the beautiful interior.
the curtains! the vaulted ceilings! the chandeliers!
even the entryway to the ladies room is picturesque!
and, of course, our cultural canteens would not have been filled to maximum capacity, had we not taken our trek (2 1/2 hour drive) up to cleveland, ohio to the rock and roll hall of fame + museum!
no pictures were allowed inside (mega lame), but we had tons of fun exploring all the different exhibits, watching some mega cool documentaries, + (almost) touching michael jackson's coveted glittery glove (among TONS, seriously, TONS of other artifacts, costumes, "original" copies of songwriting, etc. from the world's greatest rock-n-rollers!). but i think you can all take a wild guess as to where we spent most of our visit...
oh, and i almost forgot to mention our magazine cover photo shoot later that afternoon...
...and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how i spent (a month of) my summer vacation.
